You were six months old and full of fun
With a blink of an eye you were suddenly one.
There were so many things we were going to do,
But I turn my head and you were two.
At two you were still dependent on me,
But independence took over when you were three.
Your third birthday, another year I wished to ignore,
But as I lit the candles there weren't three but four.
Four was the year that you really strived,
Why, look at you now, you're already five.
Now you're ready for books and rules,
This is the year that you go to school.
The big day will come and you'll be anxious to go.
We'll walk through the doors, going oh so slow.
As I drive away and you wave good-bye
I'll feel that lump in my throat and a tear sting my eye.
For when you walk back through the doors and jump all around,
You'll be wearing your cap and graduation gown.
Time goes by so fast its hard to believe,
Why just yesterday you were home with me.
So I am holding these moments as hard as I can,
Because the next time I look I'll be seeing a man...

I got a tear in my eye reading this. My little guy just turned 4. It flies by.
I am not a stalker--I get to your blog through Jennifer's. Thanks for writing!
Hi Jen,
I was so happy to see your comment on my blog. As you know things in my personal life are a little crazy, so you have no idea how wonderful it was to see an old friend come around. I'm still actively blogging on Sarah's blog and if you'd like to visit that one it's http://sarahbethmom.mindsay.com/ loved to see you visit, she and Aidan would just adore one another. Since things have been a little crazy with me I hadn't checked your blog out in a while, Aidan is amazingly adorable. I loved that video of him dancing at your sister's wedding, too cute! Keep in touch and hope you guys have a great summer.
Love,
Josie
